He could have pulled over, squared himself away and carried on... instead he may have broken his arm or collar bone, with probably some minor lacerations and significant bruising to the face and ego areas.

I think his jacket got caught up in his front wheel. Watch the slo-mo really carefully and you'll see it between the fork and wheel.
